Dennis Matczak, 85, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved son of the late Stephen and Mary Matczak. He was born on December 1, 1940, in Chelsea, MA and grew up in Newton, MA before later settling in Billerica, where he made his home for many years with his wife and daughter.
Dennis shared 51 years of love and marriage with his devoted wife, Jeannette. He was a loving father of Michelle Ward and her husband Edward of Billerica and a proud grandfather to Cayden Ward and Collis Ward. Dennis is also survived by his siblings: MaryAnn Souretis and her husband Arthur of Marshfield, Christina LaCroix and her husband Kenneth of Marlboro, and Bernice Marzilli and her husband Daniel of Newton. He was predeceased by his bothers Stephen P. Matczak Jr. and Joseph D. (Jo-Jo) Matczak. He is also remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Dennis cherished time spent with family and friends, especially when he was cooking and sharing his delicious treats—most famously his “Dennis” burgers. He was an avid New England sports fan, with a particular love for baseball and football. Dennis was also a devoted “grandpaw” to a German Shepherd, who loved to chase the laser for hours or hop up on his lap for a wellearned treat.
