Obituary of Melvin E. Bennett

Melvin E. Bennett was born in Lowell, Ma on Dec 15, 1937. He is the son of the late Frederick Bennett and Minnie (Melvin) Bennett. He grew up in N. Billerica and attended school in Billerica and Braintree Ma. He attended the N. Billerica Baptist Church for most of his life before following the Unitarian Universalist Church in Billerica Center.

He worked at Tewksbury State Hospital as an orderly and later supervisor for thirty years. After his retirement in 1995 he worked full and part time at Tower Motors for ten years.

He is survived by his sister, Sandra Bernstein and brother - in – law, Joel Bernstein. And extended family members.   

Mel lived in Lowell and Tewksbury most of his adult life. He enjoyed listening to music and nature walks in woodlands and parks. In recent years he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and made new friends on the Cape where he spent the last five years. Visitation in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Thursday, May 1, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside service on Friday, May 2, at 11:00 AM in the North Cemetery, 40 Salem Rd., Billerica. Relativies and friends invited.
