I happen to know Maria, through Habib and Sandra. She had an beautiful smile, kind hearted and was a wise person. She was blessed with a beautiful family, who we admire deeply. Peace be with you!

I have just a few fond memories of Maria, who I simply knew best as 'Sandra's Mother'. We met at Sandra's and Habib's home and very much enjoyed chatting together. I could sense so much lively personality and individuality in Maria. I liked that and looked forward to seeing her again, which happened until the last past years. Shabeer and I would have loved to attend the services on 15th May, but sadly had to be at work. I will be going to visit the grave site in the near future. Heartfelt condolences to all the family. Maria was a delight to be around and I imagine that her death will leave a void that only with time can be filled with so many great memories of her life. Peace be upon you all.

To the Sutherland and Anastos families: Memories of laughter, love, confusion, spanakopita (the only homemade dish remembered because it was so good), long intense conversations about life, faith, relationships, and education fill our hearts and will bring us joy after the immediate grief has subsided. Aunt Maria loved and was loved - life’s greatest gift. Remember the love, treasure the memories and feel God’s comfort surround and support us as we journey through this valley together.
