Obituary of Hedley A. Collins

Hedley Arthur Collins 87, of Billerica was born August 2nd, 1937.  He is survived by his wife of 65yrs, Sandra Collins, three children, Robin Shalek and husband Jules, Steven Collins and husband Misael, John Collins and wife Kathleen as well as four grandchildren Cory Shalek, Ian Shalek, Kaitlyn Collins, and Megan Vaneske.

Hedley retired from the B&M Railroad which became the Springfield Railroad after many years.  He loved playing games like cribbage, Backgammon, and many other games with his family and friends.  He was a member of the Masonic Temple in Billerica as well as a member of the Shriners and was a frequent volunteer at the Shriners annual circus and volunteered at the Shriners burn facility as well.     

He was a devoted husband and father and lived his life to provide for his family and worked many additional jobs to ensure his family had what they needed.  He will be missed greatly.  

Visiting hour will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025 in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 2:30 PM on Monday. Relatives and friends invited.
