Obituary of Robert E. O'Connor
Obituary for Robert Emmitt O’Connor Robert Emmitt O’Connor, of Billerica, died peacefully on September 1, 2025 at the age of 93. He was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Christine Inge O’Connor, his “Sweet Pea”. He was born on February 27, 1932, in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and moved with his family to Prince Edward Island in 1936. He moved back to Chelsea when he was 16 years old and enlisted in the Army at 17. A proud veteran, Robert honorably served his country in the Korean War and completed two tours in the Vietnam War, where he was awarded the Bronze Star for his service. After his military career, he dedicated 20 years to the United States Postal Service. Robert was predeceased by his son, Robert O’Connor. He is survived by his son Michael O’Connor and his fiancée Elisa D’Amico of Woburn, MA; his son Thomas O’Connor and his partner Peg Martin of Billerica, MA; and his daughter-in-law Carolyn O’Connor of Londonderry, New Hampshire. Dear brother to Marie Morrissey of Prince Edward Island. He was a devoted “Opa” to Chad, Corey, Ryan, Ian, Kyle, Brice, and Jasmine, and a proud “Great Opa” to ten great-grandchildren. Robert will be remembered with love by his extended family and many friends. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—watching his sons and grandsons play hockey, cheering from the stands, and enjoying a round of golf. His legacy is one of courage, devotion, and unwavering love for his family.
