Carmella M. Collins, 86 a longtime resident of Saugus, Massachusetts passed away Peacefully in her sleep, after a lengthy illness at AdviniaCare Wellesley on Thursday October 23, 2025.

Born on April 21, 1939, in Medford, MA. Carmella resided in Somerville, Ma and was the daughter of the late Antonio D Pelligrino and Michelina M. Lavita Pelligrino. She was a retired Restaurant Manager. Carmella was an avid lover of animals, music as well as a writer of prose, short stories and enjoyed drawing and designing fashion.

Carmella was raised, by her parents in the Catholic Faith but also explored a wide range of other faiths. She remained a woman of deep faith until her passing. While her two youngest daughters were still in school Carmella returned to the project scale program to receive her GED (high school diploma) as well as certificates in Computer and Data Entry.

Carmella was the biological mother to three daughters Carol A Stuart Gallagher of Charles Town, MA, Farriss A Collins of Somerville, MA, Cheryl A Collins of Saugus, MA as well as her two adopted daughters Patricia M Jordan of Saugus, MA and Theresa G Grainger of Maine. Cammie was a very caring mother to many in her time. Carmella is survived by her sister Theresa Doo of Cambridge, MA., as well as seventeen nieces and nephews.

Carmella is preceded in death by her parents, Daughter Carol A Stuart Gallagher, her brothers John A Didonna, Francesco A Pelligrino, Domenic A Pelligrino and her sisters Eleanor (Demattia) Pelligrino and Maria G Grainger.

According to her wishes, Carmella was cremated. Friends and Family may gather at St. Ann Catholic Church at: 399 Medford Street, Somerville, MA 02145.
