Obituary of Donald M. Morrison
Donald Morrison, of Amesbury, MA, formerly of Billerica., went home to the Lord on Friday, December 26, 2025, just before sunrise. He was 88 years old. Donald was married to Carole (Obremski) Morrison, who survives him, for 58 years. Donald was the proud father of three daughters, Sandra Doneski (David) of Waltham, Massachusetts; Patricia Batten (Richard) of Newburyport, Massachusetts; and Karen Anderson (Seth) of Swanton, Vermont; and was the loving grandfather of Anna, Joshua, Mary, Caroline and Andrew Anderson, and Jack, Samuel, Timothy and Audrey Batten. He served in the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s, and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan from 1967 to 1969, when he returned home with an honorable discharge. Donald received his Associate’s Degree from Middlesex Community College. He worked at Sylvania/GTE/General Dynamics in Waltham and Needham, Massachusetts for three decades and retired in 1999 as an accounting manager. Donald was an avid reader and student of history. Quiet and sensitive, he had the heart of a poet. Born into the Silent Generation in the 1930s, he spoke most eloquently in writing. He cherished spending time with family gathered together and was a constant fan and supporter of his children and grandchildren in all their vocations, and artistic and athletic pursuits. Donald loved to sing and capped off many Christmas Eve singalongs with his spirited rendition of O Holy Night. Christmas music surrounded him as he entered his new dawn.
