Obituary of Charles F. Graham, Jr.

Charles “Buddy” F. Graham, 81, of Billerica, passed away peacefully at his home on February 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, and friend, Buddy lived a life defined by loyalty, hard work, and deep devotion to those he loved.

Born on June 26, 1944, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Buddy was the beloved son of the late Charles and Helen Graham. He grew up in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in 1962. Those early years shaped the steady, determined character that would guide him throughout his life.

Buddy built a remarkable 42-year career with Pepsi Cola, beginning in 1966. Through dedication, integrity, and tireless effort, he rose from Route Salesman to Business Unit Operations Manager. He took pride not only in his professional accomplishments but in the relationships he built along the way. Colleagues respected his leadership, work ethic, and friendly smile, and he retired in 2008 with a career that reflected perseverance and commitment.

In addition to his professional life, Buddy honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. As a member of the 18th Engineer Brigade, he also served from 1967 through 1969 as a medevac for Walter Reed Hospital. His military service was a testament to his sense of duty and compassion—qualities that remained hallmarks of his character throughout his life.

In 1967, Buddy married the love of his life, Barbara Marchessault Graham. Their marriage was a true partnership rooted in unwavering love, mutual respect, laughter, and shared dreams. Together they raised five children and built a home filled with warmth and strength, and little bit of chaos. For 43 years, their bond was the foundation of their family, and Barbara’s memory remained close to his heart until his passing.

Buddy was a man who cherished family traditions. He was an avid New England sports fan, and Sundays were sacred—reserved for football and passionately cheering on the New England Patriots. As a Patriots season ticket holder for 56 seasons, he created countless memories at Gillette Stadium with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Those games were never just about football; they were about time together, shared excitement, and stories that will live on for generations.

He lived an active and joyful life. Buddy enjoyed playing golf, competing in a local softball league, and working out at the gym. He appreciated simple pleasures - an afternoon at the movie theater, a quiet evening at home watching his favorite series, or time spent laughing with family. His beloved pets, Mac and Jax, brought him great happiness, and his lifelong love of animals reflected his gentle and compassionate spirit.

Buddy’s greatest pride was his family. He is lovingly survived by his five children: Debbie Martin (Colin) of Dracut; Jay Plausky (Carolyn) of Chelmsford; Paul Plausky (Kim) of Pennsylvania; Derek Graham (Suzanne) of Dunstable; and Danielle Graham of Billerica. He also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren: Jenna and Justin Plausky; Emily Martin; Madison and Chase Plausky; and Walker Graham. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Barbara Marchessault Graham; his parents, Charles and Helen Graham; and his brother, John Graham.

Buddy will be remembered for his steady strength, generous heart, and quiet humor. He was a man who showed up—for his country, for his work, and most importantly, for his family. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the traditions he created, and the love that surrounds his family.

Memorial visitation will be held in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Wednesday, February 18, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Buddy’s honor to the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) —a fitting tribute to a man whose love extended to all living creatures.
