Obituary of Sean J. Glynn

Sean Joseph Glynn (62) of Billerica, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away unexpectedly on February 13, 2026. Sean was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Sean was retired from the Suffolk County Sherriff’s Department where he worked for 20 years as a Corrections Officer. He was proud of his service there and appreciated being a member of that community. After retirement he worked for the Byam Elementary School in Chelmsford as a custodian, and at America’s Auto Auction as the Customer Service Manager.

In 1991, Sean was visiting the home of a co-worker when he met the love of his life, Christine Ahern. They married in 1992 and had five children. He was an active member of the Billerica community and worked and volunteered in several different Billerica sports organizations and his children’s schools. He coached Little League, Youth Basketball and Youth Soccer.

Sean loved to take trips with his family to Disney World as well as different cruises. Despite his 20+ year career, his favorite role was “Guppy” to his two grandchildren, Bennett and Rylee.

He was the beloved husband of over 33 years to Christine P. (Ahern) Glynn. Loving father of Johnpaul, Rachael, Connor, Paige and Ava of Billerica. He is survived by his siblings, Thomas and Denise Glynn of Peabody, Ann and James Sullivan of Mendon and Dennis Glynn of Woburn. Brother-in-law to Dawn Marie and John Dionne of Billerica and Michael Ahern of Florida. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Son of the late Dennis and Eileen Glynn and son-in-law of Paula Ahern and the late Donald Ahern.

Visiting hours will be held in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Friday, February 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, February 21, in St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa's Church, 466 Boston Rd., Billerica at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
