In Loving Memory of Shirley C. Penta

Shirley C. Penta, age 97, of Billerica, passed away on March 13, 2026. Shirley dedicated fifty years of her life as a secretary at Dow Chemical Company, where she was a valued and loyal employee.

A devoted member of St. Raphael’s Church in Medford, Shirley participated actively in the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) and also shared her passion for dance as an instructor. It was through these church activities that she met her lifelong friend, Laura Hogan, who passed away recently. Shirley also formed a lasting friendship with Eleanor Terenzi, the owner of a dance studio, where Shirley worked alongside her as an assistant.

Shirley is survived by her brother Ronald, who resides in Florida, as well as her nephew Wayne and niece Cheryl, also from Florida. She is also remembered by her nieces Pam and Cathy, who live in Arizona. Among her cherished friends were Paula Byrne, Mary Fiore-Godes, and David and Diane Stanley, with whom Shirley shared her home for many years.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Burns Funeral Home, located at 354 Boston Rd. (Rt. 3A), Billerica, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment will take place following the service at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
