Obituary of John Pimentel

John Pimentel Sr., 61

John Pimentel Sr., age 61, of Billerica, MA, passed away on March 17, 2026, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on June 19, 1964, and was the son of the late Elaine M.  (Davin) and Walter V. Pimentel, Sr.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a man of strength, quiet resilience, and a heart that showed up for the people he loved. He was the beloved husband of Virginia “Ginger” Pimentel and a proud father and grandfather who took great pride in his family. His presence brought comfort, his words carried wisdom, and his love will remain a guiding force in the lives he touched.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children whom he shared with former spouse Lisa: John Pimentel Jr. and his wife Erica; Kerri-Ann Pimentel; Shawn Pimentel; Anthony Pimentel; and Stepdaughters Mckenzie, Delaney, Madison, and Cassidy Silva as well as his cherished grandchildren.

He was the brother of Walter V. Pimentel, Jr., Marie E. Murphy and her husband Daniel, and Jeannine Pimentel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Rick Pimentel.

John was lovingly known as “Grumpy” to his grandchildren—a name he embraced with pride and joy, reflecting the special bond he shared with each of them.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 22nd from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Road, Billerica. A Mass will be held at 10:00 AM the following morning at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa Church,466 Boston Rd., Billerica with burial immediately following at Fox Hill Cemetery in Billerica.

John will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
