Obituary of Peter E. Kozowyk

Peter Eugene Kozowyk, 81

Peter Kozowyk, of Billerica, MA, peacefully passed away on Easter Sunday April 5, 2026. He was born on January 30,1945 in Chelsea, Massachusetts, and was the son of late Mary (DeAngelis) and Edward Kozowyk.

Peter was a devoted husband, father, brother and friend. He was a man of resolve, quiet resilience, and a heart that showed up for the people he loved. He was meticulous and engineer minded which made for his penchant for doing things with great attention to detail. A true Patriot as he loved this country with his heart and soul.

He was the beloved husband of Susanne R. (Kovats) Kozowyk and a proud father who supported and took delight in his children.

Peter was educated at Don Bosco Technical High School, Boston 1963 graduate and RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) Rochester, NY 1967 graduate with a BS in Printing Management. He entered into the printing industry along side his brothers, his area of expertise was printing production.

He met the love of his life Susanne Rose Kovats in Rochester at an ice rink. They were devoted to one another for 57 years and 4 months, married January 18, 1969 at St. Rose Church, Chelsea, Massachusetts. As Susanne says, “it wasn’t long enough”, both a love story and a match made in heaven. They road the roller coaster of life together, literally hand in hand. They were truly meant for each other.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Stephanie (Kozowyk) Havelka/husband James Havelka and son Stephen Kozowyk.
His siblings were Henry Kozowyk/wife MaryAlice, Richard Kozowyk/wife Helen and Maryann (Kozowyk) Laracy/husband William. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his oldest brother, Edward Kozowyk.

His presence brought strength, his words carried wit, kindness and humor. An adventurer who loved the hobbies of wine making, gardening, wood working, photography (especially Black & White) and road trips with his family. He also known to never pass up ice cream either.
