Obituary of Ann-Marie Darling
Ann-Marie Darling (Taylor), 61, of Cambridge, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2026, with her children by her side. Born in Milton, MA, she was the daughter of James Taylor (92) and the late Dorothy Taylor.
Raised and educated in Milton, Ann-Marie attended Saint Mary’s of the Hills, graduated from Ursuline Academy, earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston College, and completed her master’s degree at Bentley University. She married Raymond Charles Darling on August 17, 1996, before moving to Pembroke, MA, where they raised their two children.
A devoted mother, Ann-Marie considered her husband and children the greatest gifts of her life. She balanced family life with a distinguished career in finance, rising to Senior Vice President at The HYM Investment Group. Colleagues remember her as intelligent, compassionate, and hardworking. She loved her work and the people she shared it with. Throughout her life, she earned numerous accolades for her leadership and dedication.
Her Catholic faith was central to who she was. She prayed faithfully, donated generously to her church, and cared lovingly for both of her parents and her sisters. Ann-Marie treasured summers at her home in Dennis, Cape Cod, and was known to family and friends as one of the strongest, most loving women they knew. She was a fighter whose purpose was to serve others.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Darling; her children, Taylor Darling of Waltham and Leo Darling of Cambridge; her sister, Theresa Fenney of Abington; her sister, Paddi Donato, and her husband, Christopher, of Duxbury; her sister, Kathleen Connolly, and her husband, Paul, of Hingham; and her father, James Taylor of Pocasset, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Parish, 770 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown, MA 02472. Interment, will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Carmelite Nuns of Boston, 61 Mount Pleasant Avenue, Roxbury, MA 02119, in memory of Ann-Marie and her mother, Dorothy, continuing their legacy of giving and faithful service.
