Marjorie Bedley (“Marge”)
May 2, 2026
Marjorie Bedley, affectionately known as “Marge,” passed away peacefully at her home in Chelmsford on May 2, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of the late Eleanor and George Jackson. Marge was also predeceased by her siblings, Barbara Svenson and George Jackson Jr.
Marge was a devoted and loving mother to her children: John Bennet Jr. of Chelmsford, Debbie Bennet of Lowell, Diane West and her husband Eric of Dracut, Lori Barrett and her husband James of Chelmsford, and Mark Bennett of Tewksbury. She was predeceased by her sons, Donald Bennett and Wayne Bedley Jr.
A cherished Nana, Marge took great pride in her grandchildren: Johnny and his wife, Crystal; Amy and her husband, Neil; Joshua and his wife, Holly; Kelsey and her husband, Sean; Allison and her husband, Patrick; Paige and her fiancé, Michael; Heather, Braydon, Olivia, and the late Hailey Bedley. She was also a loving and spirited Great Nana to 15 great-grandchildren, with whom she found immense joy. Marge shared a special bond with her many nieces and nephews, creating countless adventures and lasting memories, especially alongside her sister—that she fondly reflected on throughout her life.
Marge dedicated many years to the food service industry, where she was known for her strong work ethic and quick wit. She truly embodied the meaning of “a life well lived.” Deeply loved by many, Marge had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her home was always open—whether someone needed a place to stay, a warm meal, or simply a bit of kindness. She generously made room for all, including beloved four-legged friends. Marge enjoyed long car rides with no particular destination, trips to the casino, and, above all, time spent with her family and friends, whom she adored. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Family and friends are invited to gather, celebrate her life, and share stories and memories at her service in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd. (Rt. 3A), Billerica, on Friday, June 26, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
