Obituary of Marie T. Morrison
Marie Theresa Morrison Obituary
1941 – 2026
Marie Theresa Morrison, 84, of Billerica and Tewksbury, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully in the embrace of her loving family. A Cambridge native, Marie carried a deep pride in her roots throughout her life and gave generously of herself to every community she called home.
Raised in Porter Square, she attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School before beginning her professional career at Polaroid. It was family, however, that became her greatest calling. Alongside her beloved late husband, Charlie Morrison, who she loved with deep visible devotion, Marie built a life grounded in faith and service, spending countless hours in worship and fellowship at Community Congregational Church.
Together, Marie and Charlie extended their giving spirits beyond the church walls. As proud volunteers at the Billerica Boys Club, they worked alongside the beloved Sunshine Gals, a dedicated group of women committed to feeding local children and veterans. This work was a source of immense pride and purpose for Marie and a reflection of the warmth she offered the world.
A natural creative, Marie had a gift for making beauty with her hands. She taught ceramics, painted, crafted, and decorated with quiet joy and evident talent. What she may have lacked in stature, she more than made up for in spirit—tenacious, lively, and fiercely protective of those she loved.
To her grandchildren, she was simply Nan, or Nannie Ree—the grandmother who listened closely, laughed easily, and had a well-known habit of slipping money into their pockets when their parents were not looking.
Marie is survived by her children, Kerry Scholl and her husband, Christopher Lathan; David Scholl and his wife, Laura; Jean Marotta and her partner, Jeffery Creary; and her bonus daughter, Christine Morrison. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Alexa Beliveau, Mitchell Beliveau, Joshua Scholl, Adam Scholl, and Jessica Scholl; her first great-grandchild, Jackson Scholl; and many beloved cousins.
The strength, humor, and devotion Marie poured into her family and community will endure in all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was, in every sense, irreplaceable.
