Obituary of John F. Bennett, Jr.
John F. Bennett passed away peacefully at home on June 14, 2026.
He was the cherished son of the late Marjorie Bedley of Chelmsford.
John was a devoted father to his son, John K. Bennett, and daughter-in-law, Crystal, of Clermont, Florida.
He was a loving Grampa to Elijah, Rayne, Fox, and Piper.
He took great pride in his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren and all they accomplished.
John is survived by his siblings: Debbie Bennett of Lowell; Diane West and her husband, Eric, of Dracut; Lori Barrett and her husband, James, of Chelmsford; and Mark Bennett of Tewksbury.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Bennett and Wayne Bedley Jr. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Amy and her husband, Neil; Joshua and his wife, Holly; Kelsey and her husband, Sean; Allison and her husband, Patrick; Paige and her fiancé, Michael; Heather; Braydon; and Olivia.
He was also predeceased by Hailey Bedley.
John graduated from high school in Burlington, Massachusetts, and worked for many years as a welder. He loved working on cars and spent years building and racing them with his Uncle George, cousin Bobby, and the rest of the crew. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson, cherished the dogs he had over the years, and especially enjoyed traveling to Florida to visit his son and family.
He treasured time with his nieces, Olivia and Hailey, whether taking them along on his route or simply spending time with them and his sister, Debbie. Above all, he loved being with family and friends.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to gather, celebrate his life, and share stories and memories at his service in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd. (Rt. 3A), Billerica, on Friday, June 26, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
