Obituary of Patricia E. Thain

Patricia Thain, a Dracut resident, passed away peacefully on a Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Allen Thain who passed away in 2005. They resided in Billerica until his passing, then she moved to Dracut, residing with her daughter Tracey. Patricia was born in Wakefield on April 10, 1938. She was the daughter of the late Louie and Bertha DeCecca.

She was educated in Wakefield and prior to her retirement she was a very devoted Home Health Care Aid. Patricia enjoyed family time especially during football season, cooking up a storm, cheering on the Denver Broncos. She also enjoyed her many road trips to Foxwoods and of course playing bingo. She loved her pets, especially her dogs Joey and Jigs, and if you were to look for Pat you would find her feeding some type of wildlife in the neighborhood. 

Patricia is survived by her daughter Tracey Greenwood and her husband, Joseph of Dracut, her daughter Rhonda Sweet and her partner William Paskiewicz of Lowell, and her son Corey Thain and his wife Jessica of Frisco, Texas. Her Son-in-law, Artie Ramalho. She is also a grandmother of 10 grandchildren - Charlie Lyle and his wife Kelly, Lindsay DeAngelis her husband Brian, Casey Ramalho her wife Kisha, Cameron DesRochers, Brianna DesRochers, Evan Murphy, Colin Murphy, Skylar Sweet, Gwen Thain, and Carter Thain. She is also a great grandmother of 5, David and Elizabeth Lyle, Mia DeAngelis, Zayn and Cash Ramalho. Patricia was predeceased by her son Thomas O’Brien in 2025 and her daughter, Julie Ramalho in 2025. 

Family would like to thank the staff at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford and the Bright Sun Hospice in Newton.

Visiting hours will be held at Burns Funeral Home 354 Boston Road (Rt 3A), Billerica, Friday, June 26, from 12:00 - 1:30 PM, followed by a prayer service. Interment at Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s name to MSPCA at Nevins Farm.
