Obituary of Jane T. Pietroforte

In Loving Memory

Jane T. (Prunty) Pietroforte of Billerica, formerly of Somerville, passed away on July 20, 2026, in her 93rd year after a short illness.

Jane was the beloved wife of the late Samuel A. Pietroforte Sr., with whom she shared 41 years of marriage before his passing in 1991. She was the devoted mother of Carl and his wife, Jodi, of Florida; David and Camille of Billerica; Sam Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Upton, Massachusetts; Lynda Mazzone and her husband, Tim, of Nashua, New Hampshire; Lisa of Billerica; and Scott and his fiancée, Dawn, of Florida.

She is also survived by her beloved adopted sons, Jerry and Ricky of Somerville, Massachusetts; 11 loving grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Angie DeGregorio and Joanne DiFronzo of Boston’s North End; and many nieces and nephews.

Jane’s love of life was unmatched. Her greatest joys were her husband, Sam, whom she fondly called “Lover,” and being surrounded by her children.

She grew up in West Roxbury, attended public schools, and graduated from Girls’ Latin School, where she excelled academically and received multiple double promotions. She spoke three languages, taught herself to play piano, and had a remarkable gift for mathematics.

Jane began her career as an operator at New England Telephone. After meeting the love of her life, she began a new journey with Sam and later worked for many years as a bank teller at Century Bank in Davis Square, Somerville.

Jane loved entertaining and hosted countless pool parties and barbecues. A yard full of family and friends every weekend brought her great joy, and those years in Somerville were truly some of the best times for her children.

In 1974, the family moved to Billerica, where Jane continued her banking career at Lowell Five. Her love of life remained strong as she shared many wonderful times with family and friends. She traveled to many countries, loved going to the beach, enjoyed Thursday nights at 99, and made many trips to Florida. Jane lived life to the fullest.

A mother’s love is unlike any other, and Jane showed that love throughout our lives. Thank you for all your love. Rest in peace, our sweet mother.
