Obituary of James M. Greco

On April 28th, 2024, James “Jimmie” Michael Greco passed away peacefully after a three year
struggle with tetraplegia. Born November 6, 1960, Jimmie lived in Massachusetts for his entire
life. Growing up in Westford, Jimmie was a 3 sport student athlete at Westford Academy, though
he was best known for his artistic abilities. Following that passion, he attended Bridgewater
State College, where he studied art and education. There, he continued playing football, and
became captain of the rugby team. Jimmie was known for being a hard worker. He started mowing lawns and shoveling driveways as a child, and also worked with his dad at various restaurants growing up. While at BSC, he
worked in the cafeteria and for a nearby screenprinting business. Here he designed and sold
t-shirts for teams and campus events. After he graduated from Bridgewater in 1984, he worked
as a caregiver for an elderly woman, Mrs. Edith Griscom of Cambridge MA. Most of his
responsibilities included spending time at Mrs. Griscom’s house on Cape Cod, where he tended
to her sailboats. Working for Mrs. Griscom was one of his favorite jobs and although he loved to
take care of others, there was no denying art was his true passion. During this time, he made frequent visits to Bridgewater State. He met fellow student, Becky Jones, on one of these trips. Jimmie knew right away she would someday be his wife, and even asked her to marry him on their second date. Becky said yes a year later, and the two were
married on October 10, 1987. Together they bought their first home in Billerica, MA, and in
1988, they started their own business out of the basement, “Greco Graphics”, a screenprinting
and embroidery company. The business grew over the years, expanding to two locations and serving countless
communities. Jimmie was so proud of Greco Graphics and its success. His customers became
friends, and his friends often became customers. Jimmie’s “Greco Graphics” truck was seen
carrying t-shirts all over the state, right up until his tragic injury in 2021. Jimmie stayed very involved in his community through coaching his daughters in soccer and basketball and building sets for the elementary school play in town as well as other surrounding communities. Jimmie never sat still, constantly building or fixing up something for his house, or
his family. He was extremely handy, creative and talented and was always able to customize
anything for anyone that asked. He crafted elaborate displays for Halloween, which was his
favorite night of the year and a favorite among many neighbors. Jimmie and his wife Becky moved to Groton, MA in 2001, where they raised their three daughters, who were his pride and joy. He was the ultimate “girl dad”, and nothing brought him
more joy than diving into his imagination to give his girls the most magical childhood. Jimmie was so full of life and a true kid at heart. He loved comic books, super heroes, going to the movies with friends, trips to the ocean to build sandcastles or mermaids, watching sports games, vacationing in Disney World and a good prank. However, his favorite days were spent
around his pool, grilling for his family and friends, drinking cocktails and playing washers with
anyone who stopped by. Jimmie never met a stranger. His infectious smile and laughter will be missed forever, but never
forgotten. Jimmie will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca Greco; his daughters
Casondra Hennessy, Rachelle and Siera Greco; his son-in-law, Sean Hennessy; his grandchildren Brynn and Jett Hennessy; his father and mother-in-law, Robert and Elaine Jones; his brothers-in-law, Robert, Kevin and Brian Jones; his sister-in-law, Carol Jones; his nieces Jamie Arakelian (her husband Jonny and son Jack) and Margaret Jones; his cousins, Reid and
Yumi Greco, Susan Greco, Adam and Sam Brock; his aunt Susan McInnis and many, many
other ‘family-in-law’ and friends. He is predeceased by his beloved grandparents, Joseph and Catherine Greco; and Edward and Catherine D’Entremont; and his parents, James and Catherine Greco; his Uncle John Greco and his Aunt Mary Greco.

Funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St. Theresa's Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica, Friday, May 3, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held, Thursday, May 2, in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jim's name to American Spinal Injuries Association, SIA
