Obituary of Joseph J. Zodiaco

Joseph J. Zodiaco, 94, of Billerica, MA, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Lowell General Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was the son of the late Angelo and Leonarda (Bussichella) Zodiaco. Born in Boston on September 27,1929, he graduated from Boston Trade High School in 1947, and later studied engineering at Lowell Tech. Joe married the love of his life, the late Mary E. Finn, on June 18,1950. He served in the U.S. Army and was a proud veteran of the Korean War. After his discharge, he was a Sgt. in the Army Reserves. Joe and Mary started their 60-year journey together, where they raised their three lovely daughters in their first and only home in Billerica. He worked many years in the semiconductor industry as a Quality Control Engineer and Manager at Analog Devices, and later retired from MACOM in 1991.

In his retirement, Joe learned to play the piano. He became the official “Grampy Taxi”. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his kids and grandkids. The best times he had were family gatherings, trips to Cape Cod with Mary, taking his kids, and years later, the grandkids to Canobie Lake Park, and outings to the beach. Recently, he found pleasure at Lake Winnisquam. Joe loved sharing stories about his past, including being a member of the Boston Jr. Police as a young boy.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, his parents, and six sisters. He is survived by his children, Linda and Bob Price of Billerica, Joanne and Rudy Paquette of Billerica, and Donna and Paul Fentross of Tewksbury. He has seven grandchildren; Jennifer and Dan Brucker, Bobby and Libby Price, Kevin and Kelly Price, Jeff and Sarah Paquette, Laurie and Logan Maggio, Julie and John Higgins, David Fentross, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

“Grampy” loved his family above all else, and he worked hard to keep all of us safe from harm throughout the years. You can rest easy knowing you were a loving husband and father. Well done, good and faithful servant, your work here is done. We will love you forever.
