We want to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss of Helen which is the most devastating experience your family will face. At times, the pain of your loss will feel unbearable. Please know that there are friends who care about you and your family during this difficult time. Most importantly Psalm 34:18 tells us that "God is near to those that are broken at heart. We pray that Jehovah the God of all comfort is with your family during this difficult time of grief.

Just wanted to add something about who mom was to that obit for its so hard to read just the facts like that. Helen Atlas Dasho was the strongest person you will ever know. Even after hip surgery at 93 she refused pain meds and bounced back and was walking around, cooking, happy to be alive... she wanted to live to 100 and always talked about her grandpa who lived over 100, and I am so sorry that I wasn't able to keep her alive that long.
I took care of her these past years and the last year and a half home hospiced bed bound, but she stilll was sharp minded, except for the sundowning, but loving and full of life until her bowel blocked and she never recovered but even then she held on for over a month astounding drs and nurses with her will to live and good genes to hang on that long. She was even bouncing back miracously but then took a turn, for she just had no more physical resources left but I still thought she would once again bounc back as she has so many times from death diagnoses over the years but she is at peace now.
If I had to describe Mom, it would be creative for she was a wonderful artist, even if she only painted now and then years ago, and always drew when younger, some we still have and they show great talent. If asked that what she considered herself, it would be artist and cook. She also was phenomenal at sewing for she made a lot of her own clothes and when her grandchildren were younger, their halloween costumes. She loved and was good at crossword puzzles, cribbage and wist, and up until recently still did them, even if she made mistakes that she never use to... she was amazing and I miss her already so much.
All the nurses and Drs said she is 98 like that is a death sentence but they didn't really know mom, 98 was nothing for her, if she hadn't broke her hip 6 years ago which she bounced back from but too much... so much that she was cooking and didn't use walker for a minute and fell and broke her back, but she bounced back from that... then a year and half or so ago, I was in hospital with a heart problem and had a follow up Dr appt early one morning and she didn't want to wake me for a 3am snack and walked to kitchen and fell and broke her ribs, and although she physically bounced back from that, the rehab and me were never able to get her walking again.
But even then she still loved to watch TCM old movies and loved her boost and PB&J sandwiches and cupcakes and cookies, harder to get her to eat her veggies lately tho. So it may not have seemed like a quality of life to people who didn't know her but as long as she had that and someone to tell and say I love you, she was happy to be alive and she fought to live to 100. I wish we could have given her that but she had a good life with a husband that loved her more than anything, adored her, and all us kids who admired and loved her. And her nephew Norman who was her favorite person in the world, came and visited her every holiday and that use to brighten her days soooo much so thank you, Norman. And she loved her mommy so much, and when she would sundown at night, she would call her and think I was her... what I wouldn't give to hear her call for mommy all night now.
I can't say all about Mom without stating the thing that she was most proud of... that was being an Assyrian Christian whose parents came here around 1900 from Harput Turkey, before the Armenian, Christian and Pontic Greeks Genocide at the start of WWI. There use to be an Assyrian Christian Church in Worcester whose picnics had belly dancers as she and my sister use to love to belly dance... I rather play the oud myself. There aren't many Assyrian Christians left, especially in the middle east and she use to be sad feeling like a forgotten people but she was sooooo proud that she was Assyrian, so no tribute to her would be complete without mentioning that.
I am a scientist and engineer so skeptic and atheist so don't believe in afterlife, but I wish I wasn't for I hope she is in a heaven with dad and her parents and sister and brother and all her cousins in nirvana, but she too didn't believe all that as the years went by... but I hope we are wrong and her and daddy are in inseparable again and her mommy is there for her to comfort her.
Love and Miss you, Mom. Your youngest daughter, Sue
