Ronald Raymond Rose

October 13, 1956 – July 20, 2019

Ronnie Rose, a lifelong resident of Cambridge, attended and graduated from the Roberts Grammar School, Cambridge High Latin School and Harvard University.

Ronnie passed away peacefully on July 20, 2019, following a long and courageous battle with illness. He is survived by his mother, Janet Rose, his sister, Cheri Burns, and his brothers, Rick, Randy, Rob and Marquis Rose. Ronnie was also the beloved uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.  He also leaves behind his many friends and neighbors.

Ronnie was recently employed as a stock broker at Merrill Lynch and as a concierge at the Residence at the Charles. 

Ronnie had a passion for finance and always enjoyed speculating with stock market trends. In addition, Ronnie had an incredible love for music; as a young student at the Roberts Grammar School, he became an accomplished violinist as well as winning a trip to dig at an archaeological site in Israel.

He was known and remembered by his friends and family for his sense of humor as he had a knack of making everyone laugh. Ronnie’s passion for those he cared for and the things he loved were known and understood without saying. His legacy will live on and we encourage all of those that knew him to join us in remembering and celebrating his life.

Visiting hours will be held in the John C. Burns & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, Thursday, July 25, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a brief memorial service at 7:30PM. Relatives and friends invited.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions in Ronnie’s name are made to the Elizabeth Evarts de Rham Hospice Home located at 65 Chilton Street, Cambridge, MA  02138.
