James B. Cleland, age 85, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Winchester Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice T. (Lavallee) Cleland. Born in Montreal , Ontario, May 13, 1924, he was the son of the late Christian and Anne (Richmond) Cleland. Mr. Cleland, an accountant, retired after 25 years from EG&G Wakefield Engineering. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Billerica Country Club. He retired to Winter Haven, Florida, where he lived for 16 years, prior to moving back to Billerica in 2004. He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary C. Severance and her husband Randall of Westford and Carol A. Little and her husband Scott of Billerica, his brother and sister-in-law, Hugh and June Cleland of Toronto, Ontario, his six loving grandchildren, Rayan Severance of Littleton, James and Andrew Severance of Westford, and Christopher, Allison, and Emily Little, all of Billerica. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, and his beloved pet, Lily. He was the brother and brother-in-law of the late Margaret Moulson and her late husband Robert.
