Obituary of Ann C. Jordan
Ann C. Jordan
Ann C. Jordan, a long-time resident of North Billerica and a retired secretary for Raytheon’s Tax Department, died Friday, March 6, at home after a lengthy illness. She was 80 years old.
Born in Malden on January 30, 1940, to Joseph and Janet Orlando, Ann lived her early years in Medford before moving to Woburn, where in 1957 she graduated from Woburn High School. Later in her life, Ann was baptized as a Jehovah Witness and was a dedicated member of the Billerica Kingdom Hall congregation. She devoted much of her time teaching others who expressed interest in her faith, and spent many hours visiting home-bound members. Ann enjoyed her annual vacations with her husband in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, including shopping at the various outlets, riding the scenic highways, and having breakfast, lunch or dinner at the various restaurants. An excellent cook, she enjoyed her many years of preparing delicious meals for her family and friends who praised her culinary skills. Before her health problems made her less mobile, Ann enjoyed walking the family dogs around the neighborhood with her husband or daughter. She was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics, and was a skilled and avid player of the games Scrabble and Cribbage. She also enjoyed completing New York Times crossword puzzles.
Ann is survived by her husband, Robert A. Jordan of North Billerica; two children, Carol Ann Palumbo (and Carol’s husband John L. Palumbo,) of Billerica, and Charles J. Kirk of Derry, N.H.; her brother Leo "Skip" Orlando of Dallas Texas. Her four grandchildren, John L. Palumbo (and wife Mary T. Palumbo) of Framingham; Robert B. Palumbo of Waltham, Laura J. Palumbo of Billerica, and Brianna L. Kirk of Derry, NH; and three great-grandchildren. Ann was predeceased by two of her children, the late Diana J. Kirk and the late Brian P. Kirk.
