Simas, Thomas J.- Thomas J. Simas, 58, of Cambridge, unexpectedly passed away on April 10, 2020. Originally of Somerville, Tom graduated from Somerville high class of 1979. He was employed in numerous facets of the liquor/beer industry for the majority of his life, most recently at Boston Barrel and Tap. Tom was a devoted coach for Somerville youth hockey and Cambridge and Somerville baseball for many years. He was known never to miss a game or practice and could be seen enjoying a cigar in the outfield while watching his sons play. Tom was an avid lover of the outdoors and spent many years camping and hunting. He was a member of the Billerica Rod & Gun Club alongside other family members. In more recent years, you could find Tom enjoying the summer sun at his brother’s pool. Tom was a dedicated friend who was there whenever needed. His quiet demeanor and friendly personality touched many lives. Devoted husband of Eileen (Ferguson) and loving father to Thomas P. Simas, his fiancé Kathleen Clark and Sean J. Simas. Tom is predeceased by his father, Thomas G. Simas and mother, Elizabeth (Killian) Simas. He leaves behind his siblings, Steven and Elaine (Kenney), Scott and Norma, and Christine and Vinny Buttaro in addition to 5 nieces and nephews.
