Dear Kristene, I just received your Christmas card and I am deeply saddened over the loss of your beloved and much loved mother. At the end of second grade in Stoughton, she sent me a beautiful note thanking me for everything I had done for you--What was there to do? You were the perfect student both academically and behaviorally. You were a joy in the classroom. I should have been thanking her! I saved that note and treasure it. I gather it was how Mary rolled...doing another kind deed. You must be heartbroken. You two were like two peas in a pod. How lucky she was to have you, and you to have her....So on your first Christmas without your Mom, know that she is watching over you and the hound....she raised a wonderful daughter.
