Patty Murphy Labor and Delivery Cambridge Hospital posted a condolence

Dear Joan...…….
May you now be surrounded by the many angels in heaven....I will always think of you and the many memories we have from Labor and Delivery on the 3rd floor, from the many many get togethers that you made sure were all detailed to the funny time you told my Kathleen who was 8 at the time not to waste her time rolling out pie crust
when she could buy it at market basket and just put it in the pie plate....she still remembers that and remembers saying to you that was fake crust....we will giggle lo every time we make real crust....Thank-you for all you did for us....may you be at peace and free from all suffering and be with David....Heaven has a very bright star to light the night now....I'll be sure to look …
With a very sad heart
Love Patty and Kathleen Murphy

I am so sorry for your loss. Joan and Dave could not have been sweeter, and the world was better for having both of them in it. My thoughts are with your family, and all of those she loved like family. I'm sure we're all inspired by her warmth and generosity to make the lives of those around us brighter, in her honor.

We were indeed saddened to learn about the passing of your beloved mother and our cousin, Joan. Ministerial is the one word that aptly described Joan as a wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and friend. As a nurse for over forty years, Joan assisted at the delivery of hundreds of newborns. In her parish she served as an Eucharistic Minister, sharing communion and her faith with countless shut-ins. Most of all, Joan held unconditional love for each of you. Be assured of our heartfelt condolences. The world and our family have lost a special, caring woman and she will be missed. RIP dear friend! John and Maureen Dolan & Family

My condolences to Joan's four lovely children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a very beautiful and loving cousin and friend. Her gentle smile and Irish Eyes reflected a deep peace with her personal spirituality and God's grace. Joan not only brought four lovely children into the world but was midwife for hundreds of women at Cambridge Hospital and besides attended her grandchildren's birth. Joan as Eucharistic Minister at St. Theresa's Community brought her comfort and God's love to hundreds of invalids and elderly who were home bound. She was a woman for others! That's a definition of a humble saint. Dear Joan, rest in Peace with David, your parents Kay and Bill Collins and your living ancestors.
