Margaret Jane Murphy (Jane) went home to God and her son Adam peacefully in her sleep the morning of September 21, 2020.
She was born to her parents, Joseph Augustine Murphy and Theresa May Squires, in the city Lowell Massachusetts and grew up in Bedford MA. Everyone who met Jane liked her. Her life had its fill of heartbreaks and challenges. But even when things were tough, she would crack jokes and laugh with her signature laugh. She truly brought joy to all those around her- joy in spite of everything. As a young woman, she found happiness in going to her family’s lakeside cottage where she would spend hours playing in the water with the children. She loved going to the nursery and maintaining her beautiful flower gardens. Later in her life, she found strength and peace in God and in her family.
She is survived by her eldest son Matthew, with whom she was very close. Jane & Matthew spoke daily and she usually ended calls by telling him she “loved him more than anything.” She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, her 2 grandchildren, beloved sisters Mandie and Maureen, her brother Pat, as well as nieces and nephews. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date, to be determined.
