Wink, A true Billerica Guy! Blue collar, hardworking, strong and tough. He was a world class sharpshooter; Any Weapon!
He Served bravely and with valor as a combat marine in Vietnam. As a firefighter he distinguished himself on numerous occasions under dangerous and heavy fire conditions and disregarded his own safety for others. He loved his family in his own “special” way. He had a ton of friends whom he kept in stitches with his adventures, stories and “one liners”. So to my close personal Friend, Fellow Marine and Brother Fire Fighter “Semper Fidelis Marine”. Deb & John Burke Merritt Island Florida

Oh, boy. Too many memories and stories to tell about Winkle. He was a character from the day we met until the last time I saw him expressing his opinions (to all who were within hearing) at MB in North Billerica. But you knew he really cared about people although wasn’t big on expressing verbally. You always knew it would never be dull when Wink was around.
Our deepest condolences to Kathy and family. May he Rest In Peace.

I met Larry in Napa when he helped move Steve across country. Being from Reading, I was thrilled to see the MA firefighter sticker on the car and bounded up the stairs to meet my new neighbors who turned out to be Steve. My heart is with the Thorlton family. May Larry's fighting spirit be within all of you as you grieve and honor his life.
With my deepest sympathy,
Andrea Parsons MacBean

Our thoughts and prayers for healing go out to you all. We have many memories of Larry ,our quirky neighbor. This story shows Larry ,the firefighter and his light side of Larry, the Dad. Larry used to burn out the thicket between our houses during spring clean up. Our son,Bobby, used to carry his blanket everywhere. This one day he left it in the very same area that was now on fire.Bobby is hysterical because his blanket is about to be consumed by this fire. Without missing a beat Larry ran in and scooped it up ...crisis averted. Bob always said “if our house is on fire, I hope that Larry is on the crew that responds .” Rest In Peace.
