Obituary of John W. Wilson

John W. Wilson age 89 passed away peacefully on March 19. A retired Chief Petty Officer with 20 years’ service in the US Navy. A veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he was a plank holder on the USS Guadalcanal and received commendations while stationed on the USS Shenandoah and at the Pentagon. He went on to work as a Lithographer for another more than 20 years as a member of the Teamsters union. Devoted husband to his predeceased wife Mary A. Wilson. Beloved father of Mary Ellen Maney and her husband Tom of Uxbridge MA, Steven Wilson MD and his wife Dorothy of Morrill ME, Thomas Wilson of Maryland, Kevin Wilson of Pittsfield, MA, Elizabeth Monteith and her husband Robert of Jacksonville FL. Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joy of his life. Visiting hours will be held at Burns Funeral Home 354 Boston Road, (Rt. 3A), Billerica MA from 4-7 pm on March 29. Inurnment will be at the Winchendon State Veterans Cemetery 2:00 pm on Friday April 2, 2021.
