Obituary of Catherine Tatarouns

Tatarouns, Catherine, of Billerica, born April 9, 1941. Entered eternal rest on April 20, 2021, at the age of 80. Born in Syracuse, NY to George and Sofie Bogdanos (Dratus), Catherine was the adored wife of Leonard Tatarouns of Billerica for over 57 years.  The love they shared was truly something to admire.  They did everything together, no matter what it was.  Inseparable really. She was the sister of Joyce Cormo, the late Christine LeGallo and George Bogdanos. Catherine was the devoted mother of Suzanne Tucker and her husband Travis of Billerica, Peter Tatarouns of Billerica and Stephen Tatarouns of Lowell. Beloved Grammie to Harrison, James, Greta, George, Vivian, and Lana, as well as a very loved Auntie to many nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and they truly fulfilled her life.  She never missed attending their sporting or school events.  She loved being with her family during the holidays and other special occasions.  Some of her happiest memories was when she took her kids and grandkids to Disney World in 2016 and her trip to Greece with her sister Joyce and niece Cindy. Catherine was a “miracle” in the medical books.  She had battled a rare atypical type of hemolytic uremic syndrome (AHUS) from 1985 until her death.  She was a fighter, and “very feisty” as her doctors would say.  They truly loved her, she always kept her chin up, remained positive and was a pillar of strength through it all. She was a graduate of Winthrop Hospital School of Nursing and spent many years working in long-term care facilities providing excellent care to her patients. A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, April 23 at Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at noon.  Relatives and Friends are cordially invited. All attendees are required to wear face coverings. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to (Institute of Transplantation) - Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, c/o Philanthropy, 41 Mall Rd, Burlington, MA  01805.  You may also donate online at Memorial Contributions www.burnsfuneralhomes.comLahey Hospital @ Medical Center
