Obituary of Dennis P. Hinds

Dennis P. Hinds, age 69, of Cambridge, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at his daughter's home surrounded by his four daughters after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Cambridge, September 6, 1951, he was the son of the late George and Catherine (Normile) Hinds. Dennis is survived by his loving children: Sharalee Fillmore and her husband, Jonathan of RI, Michelle Hinds and her husband, Rich Tilton of Stoughton, Shannon Hinds-Dubois and her husband, Nate of Weymouth and Cheryl Hinds of Florida. Brother of George L. Hinds, Jr. and his wife, Claire, John (Jacky) Hinds and his wife, Shelley, Rose Ann Hinds, and the late Michael Hinds. Also survived by his loving grandchildren,  Jasenia and Chad Fillon, Greyson Dubois, Anthony Tilton, Shannon and Jonathan Fillmore, Gabriel Brigham, and Damien Downs. Dennis is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed building model cars and loved history. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams but had an affection for the Boston Bruins. Dennis served his country during the Vietnam War after enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. The United States Marine Corps truly defined his character. He was a proud Marine who fiercely loved his country. The values the Corps instilled in him were everlasting. Semper Fidelis. Funeral from the John C. Burns & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, Thursday, June 3, at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Mary's Church, Cambridge at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours, Wednesday, 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
