To the family of Carol Dube.
So sorry for your loss.
She was a Special Lady.
There is a new star in Heaven.
My Memories of Carol Dube.
Began in 1967.
There were new homes being built near us. Young families moving in.
Among them, Mrs. & Mrs. Dube and a young daughter, named Dawn.
My sister, Patty and I were teenagers. The Blood sisters.
We along with our mother, Ruth, would sit for them.
Dawn knew the house rules. We were just adults in the house.
As we got older, it was Dick and Carol. Our Dad, Arthur, died 1979.
We became, Ruthie Elliott (late Tom), Patty Richardson (Glenn)
and Dawn Sutton (Jeff). We maintained a neighborly friendship.
Fast forward to 2015. Our mother, Ruth, passed away at 97 years old.
Dick and Carol realized I needed company. They invited me to visit weekly.
I enjoyed those visits! Puzzles, laughing and talking about the old days of the neighborhood.
A fun part was having Dove mini dark chocolate bars.
Carol knew, by the top, what flavor ice cream was inside (chocolate or vanilla).
Sometime after, they said I should call them "Mom and Dad".
Dawn and Jeff didn't seem to mind. I was happy.
Then COVID struck. No more visits. Phone calls would have to do. We enjoyed those talks.
Sometimes "Mom" would have health issues, but always recovered.
This time it was different. She realized that. She did it her way (Frank Sinatra).
I will miss my puzzle buddy and friend.
My heart goes out to the family.
Prayers and hugs.
Love you.
Ruthie
