Obituary of Nancy C. Lund

Nancy Carol Lund of Billerica passed away peacefully at CareOne Wilmington Tuesday January 11, 2022. Born May 31, 1944 in Cambridge, MA. daughter of the late Alice (McLeary) and Evan Lund, Nancy was the youngest of 7 children. Nancy worked for Harvard University from 1969 until she retired in 1994. After retiring she worked as a school crossing guard for the Town of Billerica for 16 years. She will be remembered by many children and parents with her distinct finger whistle, if you've ever heard it you know it! Nancy enjoyed spending time and playing cards with family and friends, she especially enjoyed being outdoors, swimming, boating, waterskiing, snowmobiling and bon fires. Nancy is pre-deceased by her brothers, George Lund, Frederic Lund, sisters, Ethelyn Bleiler, Mildred MacLeod, Alice Richard, nephew David Richard, nieces Gayle Marie Bleiler, Ethelyn Freda and nephew-in-law Richard Fristensky. Nancy is survived by her best friend of 57 years Janice Smith of Billerica. Nancy is also survived by her sister Dorothy Leslie of Stoughton along with many nieces and nephews, Susan Heider of Billerica, Renee Richard of Billerica, Joe and Yvonne Bleiler, Stephen and Diane Bleiler, Paulette & Paul Eori, Paul and Diane Richard, Laurie Leslie, Linda Ritz, Brian and Anita Leslie, Susan Lund, George Lund, Ronald Lund, Michael and Janice Lund, and many great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom she treated as her own children. Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 15, at the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica from12:00 to 2:00 PM.
