Obituary of Barbara A. Brown
BARBARA BROWN OCTOBER 16, 1926 - AUGUST 21, 2022 Barbara was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, October 16, 1926, daughter of the late Ellen (Allison) McCabe. She was the devoted wife of the late Leonard Joseph Brown, Sr. Survived by her loving children, Lalia E. (Raymond) Nuzzolo, Susan A. Brown, Leonard J. (Julie) Brown, Jr., Barbara S. Brown with whom she lived the last 6 years, half-brother Norman (Maria) McCabe; cherished grandchildren, Joshua (Jill) MacDonald, Matthew ((Holly) MacDonald, Nicholas Langathianos and Andrew Langathianos; adored great-grandchildren: Taylor Penny (Chad Laurin), Morgan Penny, Cameron Penny, Paige MacDonald, Roderick MacDonald, Finley MacDonald, Lachlan MacDonald; precious great-great grandchild, Blake Laurin; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter, Lynne D. (Reubin) MacDonald, granddaughter, Lynne Masotta, sister, Alice McCabe, brother, Bernard McCabe and half-brother, Donald McCabe. Barbara retired as the Food Service manager at the Billerica Memorial High School. She was a member at the First Congregational Church in Billerica MA. She supported the Lowell Transitional House and The Cambridge Outdoor Church through the Outreach Committee at her Church. Barbara was an avid Boston sports fan, although legally blind she loved telling us what penalty the refs should call before the refs announced it. Her Thursday afternoons were spent with her great grandchildren helping them make crafts or taking imaginary journeys through shark infested waters. We always joked about her being our "Queen", she loved to wear her shirt that proclaimed "When the Queen is happy there is peace in the Kingdom." Barbara loved wearing all styles of hats and bright colors. If you come to her Celebration of Life please honor her memory by wearing a hat and bright colors. The service will be held October 23, 2022, 2:00 pm. at the First Congregational Church 18 Andover Road, Billerica, MA. Reception to follow in Dale Hall. Interment of Barbara and her husband Leonard to take place at a later date in the Midgell Cemetery in Midgell Prince Edward Island, Canada.
