When I met and worked with Bernie at Middlesex I truly enjoyed her dry wit and her wink at the end of a story. She was soft spoken but very able to get her point across. She and Phil complimented each other she was his rock. May they both rest in peace. So very sorry for Bernie’s family’s loss. You have a wonderful legacy of memories.

My mom was certainly one of a kind. I always told her I could write a sitcom on her and my dad- and it would be a hit. She had a small close circle of friends and if you were part of it - you were very lucky. She was honest to a fault - which always cracked the family up and the fact that she really was so naive in so many ways just added to the many laughs we all shared. Our children were very lucky to have her as a Nana. Marcie, Johnny and I are thankful God chose us to be her children. Her and my dad, although complete opposites, still showed us us how family took care of each other. We promise to pass down her traditions and make her proud

You would have to go far wide to find a more supportive and kinder sister than Bernie. Always full of support and smiles for everyone - never an unkind word for anyone, Bernie left it to the rest of us to tell people what we really felt! Being very Irish, she would always be the one to help out no matter the circumstances. Never one to complain, she left that to the rest of us to fill in the complaint department! A very devoted Catholic, she prayed for everyone - some more than others who might need a little extra boost in the prayer department. Bernie was always ready with a kind word and supportive shoulder always first in line whenever someone needed assistance. Bernie was the kindness and gentlest one of all of the Callahan clan; her likes will not pass this way again. Be sure to hold her memory close to your hearts and always remember to engender her kindness to others just as she would have wanted.
With love and heartfelt memories,
Ray & Peggy Callahan
