Obituary of Violet H. Sullivan
Violet H. Sullivan of Billerica passed away on Monday, March 20, 2023 at the age of 84. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Daughter of the late Michael J. Callahan and Mary Callahan and wife of the late Edward T. Sullivan.
Violet was number eight out of eleven children that immigrated from Preston, England when she was 11 years old. She grew up in the City of Cambridge with her big Irish family. Violet then met her husband, Edward Sullivan and had a large Irish family of her own, they raised 6 children together and as time passed, she had many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she loved very much. She dedicated her life to her family and friends and was loved by many.
She is survived by three daughters, Christine Sullivan of Billerica, Brenda Sullivan and her husband Ronald Fox of Billerica, and Valerie Conti and her husband Michael of Chelmsford; her son, Brian Sullivan and his wife Kelly of Chelmsford; her sister Rosaleen Draper of Billerica; two brothers, Raymond Callahan of CT and Desmond “Desi” Callahan of Billerica; eight grandchildren, Derek Garabedian and his wife Marissa of NJ, Brooke Nahme and her husband Dave of Methuen, Kalie Garabedian and her fiancée Joseph Yancy of Chelmsford, Ian Fox and his partner Jessica Wade of Portsmouth, Paige Green and her husband Joseph of Somerville, Shane Conti of Chelmsford, Aidan Sullivan of Chelmsford, and Shannon Sullivan of Chelmsford; and nine great-grandchildren, Hayden, Destiny, Grace, Emma, Kinsley, Chase, Vanessa, Colton, and Hadley.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Sandra Sullivan, her son Edward M. Sullivan, her sisters Phyllis Low, Patsy Noonan, and Bernie Quinlan, and her brothers Joe Callahan, Colum Callahan, James Callahan, and Vinny Callahan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Kathleen Callahan and Janet Callahan.
Visiting hours will be held at Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd. (Rte. 3A), Billerica, on Friday, March 24, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Funeral from the Burns Funeral Home on Saturday, March 25 at 9:00am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish at St. Andrew's Church, 45 Talbot Ave, North Billerica at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment, Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.
