Obituary of Russell Fletcher Saunders

Russell Fletcher Saunders, age 75, of Hampton NH formerly of Billerica, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Epsom Healthcare Center.

Born on October 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Phillip and Shirley Saunders. He was the loving husband of Stephanie Saunders.

Russell was a proud veteran of both the Navy and Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Enlisting in the navy, he became a corpsman in the Marines for two years before completing another year in the Navy at Quonset Point, RI. He was a longtime member of the Elks Lodge #2701 in Billerica.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son James Saunders and his wife Carla of Broken Arrow, OK; his daughter Traci D’Antonio and her husband Jeff of Framingham, four grandchildren, Patrick Saunders, William Saunders, Jason Saunders, and Andrew Wells, all of Broken Arrow, OK; brother Phillip Saunders and his wife Diana of Billerica, sister Elizabeth Cerra and her husband Tony of Dracut, special mother-in-law Evelyn Cooke of Billerica and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews

Graveside service will be held Sunday, July 16, at 12:00 noon in Westlawn Cemetery, 7 New Estate Rd., Littleton, followed by a Celebration of Life at Kitty's Restaurant, 123 Main St., North Reading, from 2:00 to 5:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited. www.burnsfuneralhomes.com
