Obituary of Laura J. Richardson

Laura J. Richardson (Brosnahan),  age 62,  passed away peacefully at her home in Porter, ME. on September 13, 2023  after losing her battle with  respiratory disease.  She was born in Boston, MA., the daughter of the late William J. & Joyce R. (Ringland) Brosnahan lll   She is predeceased by her brother John M. Brosnahan, who also died of Pumlonary Fibrosis in May 2023.
        She was the loving mother of Jay R. Richardson ll,  who has been by her side attending to her needs during her battle with COPD & Pulmonary Fibrosis.  AND lets not forget her fur babies: Toby & Blinky (Golden Retrievers) who have stood vigil over her for many years.
    She is also survived by her sister Helen B. (William I.) Miles of NH, brother William J. Brosnahan lV of VT, and sister-in-law Brenda (John) Brosnahan. Her nephews: William & Connor Brosnahan of MA, and Jeremy, Justin & Jarred Martineau of NH.   Her  Aunts & Uncles include Karen A. (Robert) Spector of SC.,  Dennis J. (Jacqueline Lipton) Ringland of FL, George C. Ringland of  MA, Margaret (Paul) Gosselin of MA, & Carol (Steve) Emory of WA.  She is also survived by several cousins and extended family.
    After graduating High School, and a brief stint in college, Laura served in the US Army where she was a helicopter mechanic & assisted with the clean up of the eruption of  Mount St. Helen's. In the Army she also met & married Jay's father. After discharge, divorce & a debilitating back injury, she settled in ME.   Her life was full of her son, dogs, politics & debates (with several recent stints in FB Jail!)     Until her health deteriorated, she enjoyed  many camping trips along the Kancamagus with family & friends.  She will be  missed  by all who loved her. Memorial visitation will be heldin the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Sunday, September 24, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited. Graveside service will be held Monday, September 25, in the Fox Hill Cemetery, 130 Andover Rd., Billerica at 11:45 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Laura's name, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
