Obituary of John R. Clover, Jr.

John R. Clover, Jr. "Richie"  of Cambridge, died November 6, 2023, after a lengthy illness. Beloved husband of Katherine M. Clover "Kathy" for 52 years. Cherished Da of Mary K. OBrien of Quincy and Jennifer A. Perry of Princeton. Father-in-law of Stephen OBrien and James Perry. Proudest Papa of Madison and Jamie Perry, whom he adored and were his greatest joy. Son of the late John and Frances Clover. Brother of Mary Williams and her late husband Robert Williams. Paul Clover and his wife Nancy, James R. (Jay R.) Clover and Lisa Pedersen, and Joseph Clover and his wife Laura. Beloved Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Best friend of John "Jack" and Carol Gonsalves, the late William "Dan" Lowe and Elizabeth "Betty" Lowe, Michael and Fran Connolly, and John and Bette Serris. Proud Vietnam Veteran and Bronze Star recipient. Distinguished retired Cambridge Firefighter for 28 years. Dear friend to Miguel Torres and many other members of the Army and the Cambridge Fire Department community. He cherished every one of you that he had the privilege of working with, knowing, loving and having friendships with. May he rest in peace and be in the hands of the Lord. Visiting hours will be held in the John C. Burns & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, Friday, November 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral mass will be held, Saturday, November 11, in St. Mary's Church, 134 Norfolk St., Cambridge at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited.  Interment, Will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's name to the Wreaths Across America or Wounded Warrior Project.
