Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your father. What a wonderful life he had. I know he was a very special man, I could always see that in your eyes as you talked about him. Your Mom has waited a long time for him, they are finally together again, I hope that comforts you in some way. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Love, Linda

I came across this and it is something to ponder on.
You can shed tears because they are gone, or you can smile because they lived.
You can close your eyes and pray they will come back, or you can open your eyes and see that they left for you.
Your heart can be empty because you cannot see them, or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember that they are only gone, or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind and feel empty, or you could do what they would want.
Smile, open your heart, love …and go on.
We will always miss you, Dad!
Love your son Michael and Linda Lee

Anna and Tommy. Very sorry for your loss. I heard about the legend of Gus for many years. We talked a lot the last couple of years of his health and the care, support and comfort you provided to him. I was fortunate enough to meet Gus in August of this year at Little Squam Lake. My favorite memory was seeing the love and caring between Gus and Anna during that visit. Even though Gus did not speak at that time, his eyes and body language said it all.

Gus was a remarkable man to know, I was introduced to him many years ago by my husband Norman. We were always treated as family whenever we got together with Gus and his family. Some of the greatest memories were times we would go up to the summer home on Little Squam in Holderness, NH and holidays in Billerica, MA.
My son Kyle always thought of Gus as a grandfather and called him Grandpa Gus. It was wonderful to have him in attendance at my son Kyle’s wedding and to be with him on his last trip to the home up at Squam, where he was able to be with Kyle’s first-born son Hudson. We have a beautiful picture of Hudson holding Gus’s finger and Gus was smiling.
He will be forever missed by all in my family.
We Love You, Gus

Grandpa Gus: A man with a vision , big heart and energy like no other . With so much time spent crafting, building, enjoying the lake with family: His spirit lives on at his homes other peoples homes , and the lives he touched. He was the last of his kind that I know and he stood out as a role model to me as my grandfathers had all passed long ago. He taught me alot at summers on squam like fessing up about things , not being afraid of attempting to figure things out and learning from mistakes. He made things look perfect with whatever he had lying around. If he didn’t have it he would mill it or invent it. I don’t know anyone else like him anymore and always keep him close in my heart as I embark on new chapters of life/ projects. Gonna miss ya Gus. I know he is rocking on with Nana and is happy to be up there with her and others.

I had the privilege and honor of knowing and spending time with and even living with Gus. He was the epitome of a family man and his family is his greatest Legacy, Squam was built with everyone of them in mind. Even his great grandchildren that had the privilege of spending time with him in the last two years of his life. The biggest smiles and most cherished memories came from these last two years. At the age of 95 he was on the ground playing with his Great Grandson a memory that we will forever hold. He was a friend of my grandfathers from his younger working years and it was amazing to see the two of them enjoy their grandchildren connect and marry in 2018. Life long memories and cherished moments will be forever held in this Salowsky home. And Squam Lake will be the place where we forever gather and remember the Great Legacy of Great Grandpa Gus!
