Obituary of Thomas L. Nunes

Thomas L. Nunes,age 95, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. He was the beloved husband of the late Florence (Kaup) Nunes. He was born on October 21, 1928 in East Boston, son of the late Joseph and Anna Nunes. He was a World War II, Veteran and participated in Operation Crossroads (two Atomic Bomb tests in the Marshall Islands) he came to Billerica in the 50s and built his home, and retired from Jordan Marsh (Macy’s) after 40 years as a watchmaker. He was also very involved in the V.F.W., Solomon post in Billerica for years.  He survived his four children, Dennis Nunes and wife, Maryann, David Nunes and wife, Linda, Daniel Nunes and wife, Danielle, Dawn Wink and husband, Mike. He was also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.  Funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parish in St.  Theresa's Church, 466 Boston Road, Billerica. Thursday, April 25, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held, Wednesday, April 24, in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
