Obituary of John P. Walsh
John Paul Walsh, Jr., age 84 of Billerica, died June 20, 2024, at his home in Billerica, after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Boston, January 22, 1940, the son of the late John and Rita (Burns) Walsh. Paul was a longtime resident of Billerica, having run a successful construction business for 55 years, JP Walsh backhoe Services. Paul loved putting around his barn daily, he was always saving something, saying “well someone might need it someday’”, he was a definite Pack Rat! He is survived by his loving wife, to whom he was married for 30 years, Donna L. (Small) Walsh. He also leaves behind his loving family members, Bill Small and his wife, Diana, Julie Millar and her husband, Kevin, Sue Berry, and husband Jon. His nephews, Kevin and Cassandra Millar and Eric and Aimee Millar. Paul also leaves his great friends, John Wallace and Kathy Memmolo, Nicholas Memmolo. Paul was like a second dad to Kevin Mcinerney, too, whom he was a great mentor to and referred to him as his little friend. As soon as Kevin could walk, he would be at Paul’s playing on his equipment, which led Kevin to have his own business hauling and driving heavy equipment. Visiting hours will be held in the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd., (Rt. 3A), Billerica, Thursday, June 27, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Relatives and friends invited. Funeral mass will be held at St. Matthew the Evangelist Parch, in St. Andrew’s Church, 45 Talbot Ave., North Billerica at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited.
