Erick Andersson

Obituary of Erick R. Andersson

Erick Richard Andersson, 86 of Billerica, MA passed away on November 21st, after a long illness.  His adored wife, Alison by his side.  Erick was born in Arlington, MA to the late Bror and Elizabeth (McCabe) Andersson of Belmont, MA.

While working in Boston, at Bemis Bag Co. he met his beautiful future bride, Alison Wynott of Rye, NH.  They were crazy about each other and very happily married for almost 60 years.

Erick was a graduate of Belmont High School.  He and his beloved Sister, Barbara spent their childhood living in a multi-generational household.   His Aunt Anna (McCabe), Uncle George & Cousin Jimmy Robbins were a very important part of his life.  As a young man he was a natural athlete,  enjoying baseball the most and playing any chance he could. That love of baseball continued his entire life.  In later years, he and his “Doll” Alison, a sitting by his side, always,  never missed  his loved, beleaguered Red Sox, on the tube.

His career included being a grocery manager for several Star Markets and a sales executive for Canada Dry.  He retired, as the same, in 2009 from Garber Brothers in Stoughton, MA.

His favorite hobby of trout fishing was enjoyed during yearly family vacations with Alison’s sister Priscilla and the (late) Harold Fernald & their children: Lisa, Laurie & Stephen at White Pond in Ossipee, NH.  As far as he was concerned that 2 room 2 floor camp on the water’s edge was as splendid as any 5 star hotel

All who knew Erick, know his family was the most important part of his life.  His devoted children, Sharon & her husband Don McFarland, of Nashua NH and Mark & his wife Erin Andersson of Arlington, MA. were lucky enough to never be far from his mind.

His sense of humor and quick smile were obvious to many.  His loyalty and love were saved for a select few.  He will missed dearly but remembered fondly by not only his immediate family but by his close friend, Bill “Billy” King of Billerica, MA, his cousins, Barbara and Laura Bund, Winchester, MA, his sister Barbara Milne, NY and her children : Cindy & Mehdi Servattalab, MA and Deb & Dan Miller, Bob Milne and Karen & Tim Kirwin all of NY as well as their children and grandchildren. He was predeceased by brothers in law, Jack Milne and Lloyd Goodwill, his nephew Jack Milne Jr., sister in law Carolyn Goodwill and cousins Martha & Charles Bund, of Winchester, MA.

Cremation and burial services were held privately.  In leu of flowers, Erick asked that donations be made to your favorite charity.  His children, Mark & Sharon kindly ask that any memories shared of their Dad be written in either burnsfuneralhomes.com  guestbook or on Sharon’s FB page.  His beloved “Sweetie “, their Mom, Alison would love to read them.
