Obituary of Elinor A. Trottier

Elinor A. Trottier, a dedicated wife and a loving mother, died peacefully in her sleep, Monday, May 30, 2011 at her home in Billerica with her children at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Roger L. Trottier. Born April 15, 1931 in West Roxbury, she was the daughter of the late James Reginald and Mildred G. (Hallett) Burns. A 1948 graduate of Wilmington High School, Elinor worked for John Hancock Insurance Company. Following her marriage to Roger Trottier on December 30, 1950, she and her husband resided in Lowell. She was employed by Atlantic Parachute. In 1965, Elinor and Roger relocated to Billerica. During the 1970s, Mrs. Trottier was employed by the Billerica School Department as an administrator for the Title One Project (BEAM). She later worked For MITRE Corporation, retiring at the age of 62. Elinor resided on New Foster Avenue in Billerica for most of her married life. She was an active member and past president of the Billerica Emblem Club, receiving an Honorary Lifetime Membership and acknowledgement of her achievements on April 29, 2010. She is survived by her three children, Donna Quinn and her husband Tony of Lowell, Stephen G. Trottier and his wife Christine of Spring Hill, FL, and John A. Trottier and his partner Marie Spinello of Chelmsford, her grandchildren, James and Ryan Trottier, Anthony and Richard Quinn, and Anthony James and Jessica Lynn Trottier, her great grandchildren, Isabella Pietra Micciche and Kayella Lynn Lamb, and her grand nephews and nieces, James Burns, Jr. of Billerica, Barbra Costa of Maine, Gary Costello of Nashua, and Linda Costello of Lowell. She also leaves her good friends who supported her when she needed it, Evelyn Cooke of Billerica and Susan Hutchinson of Billerica. The last surviving member of her family, she was also the sister of the late James R. Burns and Edna Burns Costello, and aunt of Jay Burns.
