Obituary of Myrtle C. Brien

Myrtle C. (Constantine) Brien, beloved wife of the late Patrick B. Brien Sr., passed away after a long illness at the age of 96 at the Ivy Hall Nursing Home in Tennessee on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Born in Boston on October 6, 1915, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Agatha and George Constantine and sister to, all pre-deceased, Agatha Carroll, Louise Marotta, Mary and Martha Macrina, William, George, Richard, Henry, Leonard, John, and Joseph Constantine, and Charles O'Connell. Prior to moving to Tennessee Myrtle was a longtime resident of Billerica, where she dedicated herself to raising her family and, later, a resident of Florida. Myrtle loved cooking, sewing, listening to country music, and harmonizing to all genres of music. Myrtle was pre-deceased by her first born daughter and is survived by her other nine children: Catherine Curtis (late husband William) of Hyde Park, Patrick Brien and his wife Kathleen of Billerica, Corinne (Kelly) Brady and her husband Stan of Nashua, NH, Myrtle Murphy of MA, Elena Roscillo and her husband Vincent of Hodges, SC, Frederick Brien and his wife Patsy also of Billerica, Bernadette (Scalzilli) Brienzi of Mesa, AZ, Pauline (Short) Burchard (caregiver) and her husband Joseph of Whitefield, NH, and Dennis Brien and wife Pauline of Merrimack, NH. Additionally, Myrtle was pre-deceased by one grandson and is survived by 36 Grandchildren, 40 Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and sister-in-law Rose Constantine of Billerica.
