He is survived by his fianc� Sharon Birks of Tilton; 3 daughters, Christine Rose and her husband Larry of Chelmsford, Kerri Tarpey and her husband Mark of Wakefield, and Lori Carroll and her fianc� Jay Carey of Billerica and their mother Rosemary Shute of Billerica; his sister, Maryanne Maier of CT; 8 grandchildren, Brian and Eric Rose, Breanna Carroll, Justin Carey, and Kevin, Stephanie, Adam, and Ryan Tarpey; and his granddog Champ. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at the Burns Funeral Home, 354 Boston Rd. (Rt. 3A), Billerica at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lowell General Cancer Center, 295 Varnum Ave., Lowell, MA 01854. Interment, Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica. Mr. Shute had served in the Army Reserves.
