Marchant, Robert F., age 63, of Cambridge, died peacefully August 6, 2012. Born in Cambridge on July 13, 1949, the son of Wallace and Helen (MacGuire) Marchant. He grew up in Cambridge where he lived most of his life. Beloved husband of Jean Hannon of Cambridge. Father of Eric Marchant of CT, and Sara LaBreck and Adam Marchant, both of FL. Brother of Nora "Rene" Leahy of Cambridge and the late Wallace and Donald Marchant. Also survived by 13 grandchildren. His first marriage to Sharon Dingwell ended in divorce. Bob's true passion and hobby was creating new recipes; his nickname "Chef Bob" was deserved. He enjoyed all sports, especially the New England Patriots and Celtics and raising and racing horses. Bob was a Vietnam U.S. Army Veteran, 1967-1969. A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Cambridge Cemetery, Cambridge. Relatives and friends invited.
