Obituary of Daniel E. Burke

Daniel E. Burke of Belmont, formerly of Cambridge, died unexpectedly on November 24, 2012. The devoted family man was surrounded by the love of his family members during his last hours of life. Danny, as he was called by all who knew him, was a successful financial adviser and an ardent sports fan. He loved family gatherings around the barbecue and playing jokes on his nephews and nieces. His favorite pastime of all was hanging out with his beloved wife Nancy. Dan is survived by wife Nancy E. (Denkewicz) Burke; his loving brother Paul Burke and his wife Nancy of Belmont; his sisters Stella Burke and Marie Burke; and his brother Joseph Burke, all of Cambridge. Dan was the son-in-law of Lillian Denkewicz of Cambridge; brother-in-law of Lynne Minervini and her husband Robert of Idaho; Carol Leroux and her husband James of South Carolina; Mary Kim Belkin and her husband Jeffrey of Longmeadow, MA, and Laurie Fitts and her husband William of Topsfield. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Stella and Daniel Burke. A funeral service will be conducted at the John C. Burns & Sons Funeral Home, 305 Broadway, Cambridge, Wednesday, November 28, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Peter's Church, 100 Concord Ave., West Cambridge, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited.
