Obituary of James Murphy
James Murphy, age 80, died at Lowell General Hospital, Monday, March 25, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy V. (Shaw) Murphy to whom he was married 48 years. Born in Medford, February 21, 1933, James was the son of the late John and Agnes (Norton) Murphy. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After 40 years as a Quality Control Inspector, he retired from Raytheon Corporation in Waltham. James, a resident of Billerica for 44 years, was a communicant at St. Theresa's Church. He was a former member of the American Legion Post # 45, Medford. Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Timothy Murphy and his wife, Kimberly, of Dracut and Sean Murphy of Billerica; his sister, Marion Murphy of Medford; and his two loving grandchildren, Connor and Laila Murphy. He was also the brother of the late John, Walter, and Robert Murphy.
